Why is it cheaper to heat with an infrared heater than with other methods?

In this blog article we list 4+1 things that make infrared heating more cost-effective than other heating solutions. And the facts don't lie.

Energy demand

It is a very important misconception that the performance of electrical appliances is determined by their energy requirements. But even with a simple vacuum cleaner, consumers tend to focus on energy requirements rather than suction power. But a 2000 Watt is not necessarily better than a 1000 Watt, it just consumes more power. This is no different for infrared panels. The fact that they don't have a huge power requirement just means that they are extremely efficient. Let's see what this means in practice. While a conventional heater may have an efficiency of only 38% - i.e. 38% of the energy consumed is used - this figure can be as high as 98% for an infrared panel. This is due to the new technology's operating principle, which makes these devices super-efficient.

Maintenance costs

The infrared heaters contain no moving parts, so there are no maintenance are not required. This is revolutionary compared to gas systems that need to be checked every 12 months to prevent leaks, but also heat pumps, for example, that need to be serviced every year. Radiators are no exception, they have to be cleaned regularly, a rather laborious process. Repairs can also cost a fortune, not to mention replacing a component or, say, the boiler. With infrared panels, you can say goodbye to these minimum annual hassles, saving a lot of time and money.

Controllers

The infrared heaters can be connected to a thermostat, so you can easily control the temperature in your home. It is a very serious misconception that turning the heating off completely when you are not at home will save you money. In most cases, it takes much more energy to heat up the house again and again than to set a constant base temperature, which can of course be raised slightly when you are at home. It is therefore worth opting for a thermostat solution, and if you install a WIFI version, you can also control the temperature remotely.

The panels can be individually controlled

With infrared heaters, it is also possible to heat only 1 or 1 room. Of course, we can also turn off a radiator in a gas circulator solution, but the boiler that runs the whole system will still consume energy even if only 1 radiator is turned on. If there is a need not to keep all the rooms in the house/apartment at the same temperature all the time, it is possible to heat only certain rooms. This is why the infrapanel is perfect for supplementary heating.

+1 Minimum installation costs

If you opt for an infrared panel heating system, you won't need a lengthy and expensive permit process. What's more, installation requires no special expertise, so you won't have to spend a fortune. It can be fixed to the wall with a few screws and works instantly when connected to the mains or a thermostat.
